Be of Good Cheer

Be of good cheer! The Master calleth you!
And Bartimaeus cast his robe away.
Rejoicing in this benediction new.
As faith revealed to him the light of day.

No longer did he falter in the night,
Nor greet the breaking day without a song;
For he had glimpsed the man the Master saw,
Pure and complete, in every function strong.

Go then like Bartimaeus. Cast away
Your tinsel robe of fear, deceit, and sin:
And with the truth, whose winds blow far and wide,
Dispel the mist, and let the Christ come in.
