When I was a child my mother was raised from her deathbed through Christian Science. Our introduction to this religion occurred twenty years ago. In these years our family has found progress, happiness, comfort, and health through the study and application of its Christlike teaching. My father was healed of deafness in one ear through his first reading of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. During my school days Christian Science was applied to each problem, and in every instance the need was met. One of my greatest blessings was the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School for almost seventeen years.

When I was about twelve years old my foot was injured in such a way that it was twisted out of its normal position. It was badly swollen and I could not walk. This condition occurred early one Sunday morning, and by evening it had grown very painful. The practitioner called to work on the case did so very faithfully, but the next morning the condition was no better. However, I expressed a desire to go to school. My mother telephoned to the practitioner and told her of my desire. She then quoted these words found on page 574 of the Christian Science textbook: "The very circumstance, which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares." My mother returned to my room and read these words aloud. Together we repeated them. In a short time we saw my foot turn back to its normal position. The pain stopped, and fifteen minutes later I was on my way to school completely healed. This healing made a great impression on me. I think it must have been at that time that I realized the value of Christian Science. At another time I was healed of a physical difficulty by declaring the Biblical promise from I John, "Perfect love casteth out fear." To have a religion such as Christian Science which corrects lovingly, heals, protects, and leads ever in the path of humility causes me to be very grateful. It is good to know the fundamental truth of Christian Science, perfect God and perfect man.

I am learning that even as the eagle uses the storm to rise higher, so I can use each human experience to rise higher in my understanding of the supremacy of God.
