Bay Shore, New York (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bay Shore, held two dedication services in its church edifice on Sunday, July 19, 1942. A brief history of the church was read by the First Reader.

In 1918, a group of Christian Scientists living in Bay Shore started services. These were first held in private homes and then in Odd Fellows Hall. In 1923, they were recognized as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. Massachusetts.

By 1928, a plot of ground which had been purchased was fully paid for and the present building erected. The cornerstone was laid on October 4, 1928, and the first service in this new building was held on December 23, 1928.
