Sanctuary

I was afraid, weary and weak and ill,
And turned in my great need
To Thee,
O Father-Mother God,
And found my peace.

An angel whispered tenderly to me:
There is a place where these things cease to be;
Come! come and see
Life, health, and peace.
This is the truth,
The other only seems to be.

The Christ, Truth, says,
I come to give thee life,
Life more abundantly.
Shall we not gratefully accept this gift,
Be free?

Turn now from sorrow, pain, and fear
To hear the angel voice speak low and clear,
There is a place where these things cease to be—
It is
Immanuel, God with me.
