Mary Baker Eddy writes in...

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 58), "Home is the dearest spot on earth, and it should be the centre, though not the boundary, of the affections."

When I was a new student of Christian Science and earnestly desired to work out all my problems according to its teachings, I went to a practitioner and told him all I believed was hindering me from working out my problems. My husband was not a student of Christian Science, and I feared that his thought and other beliefs might hinder my progress.

The practitioner answered, quoting from the Bible, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, ... for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." A heavy burden or weight fell from my shoulders. I saw for the first time that we were not separated but were one in the Father, and that error was not man any more than the tares were part of the wheat. However, like the man in the Bible, I still wished to justify myself, and I told the practitioner that my husband was slow, for I believe this to be the foundation of our financial difficulties. He lovingly answered, "He is not slow, but you are slow to recognize the image and likeness of God."
