Waukesha, Wisconsin (First Church).—Members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Waukesha, held dedication services for the new church on Sunday, June 28, 1942, in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

A brief historical sketch of the church and building follows in part: In 1890, when Waukesha was a widely known summer resort, a small group of local people and summer visitors began holding Christian Science services in a private home. Two years later the first public service was held in the Good Templars Hall. Formal organization of a Christian Science Society was accomplished in May, 1900, and regular services have been held since that date.

The members were able in March, 1908, to purchase the familiar old stone Tyler home, at Maple and West Park Avenues, the site of the present church. This building was remodeled in 1914 and again in 1927. In 1926 the society took an important step in becoming First Church of Christ, Scientist, Waukesha.
