"I shall not die, but live"

The fears of mortal existence are many and varied, but one that towers above all others is the fear of death.

Christian Science reveals to a death-fearing world that the real man—the man God created—has neither birth nor death. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 206), "Can there be any birth or death for man, the spiritual image and likeness of God?" The perfect reflection of Spirit cannot be born into matter; hence man, who is this perfect reflection, cannot die out of it.

The realization of this fundamental truth of being lifts one above the foremost fear of mortals and brings a profoundly satisfying awareness of man's immortality. Furthermore, it has healed many who believed themselves to be dying from some disease considered incurable. Therefore, what better time will there ever be than the present to banish from consciousness the mortal illusion which causes so much fear and suffering, and to admit the triumphant truth that man, as God's expression of Himself, lives forever?
