It would be impossible for me...

It would be impossible for me to recount all the wonderful experiences I have had in the application of the truth taught us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It has made the Bible understandable, while before it seemed a book of contradictory statements. The book of Revelation was always fantastic and distasteful to me, whereas today I love it, finding so much good in the exalted thoughts of the Apostle John. What riches are poured out by the Bible when read in conjunction with the inspired works of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy!

I have had numerous physical healings, and should like to tell of one which occurred over two years ago. It was washday and I was filling the washer with boiling water, having to carry it from the kitchen by pailfuls to a laundry room at the rear of our home. I had to cross an enclosed cement porch and go down one step to reach this room.

After emptying the boiler to within three inches of the bottom, I carried the remaining water in the boiler. When I was going down the one step my heel caught, and I fell headlong against the wall, bruising my hip severely on the stone step and spraining my right ankle, and the water scalded my left side. For a moment I lay there in terrific pain; then, declaring that man is "unfallen, upright, pure, and free" (Science and Health, p. 171), I succeeded in crawling to a rocker on the porch and began singing hymns and particularly a solo I had sung at our services two weeks before. I remained there for half an hour, after which I arose, all pain having ceased, and completed my washing, ironing, and some baking before our evening meal—more than I had accomplished on less trying washdays! The blisters and discolorations disappeared in less than a week. This took place on a Monday and I was able to give this testimony at the following Wednesday evening meeting.
