In the answering of criticisms on Christian Science, it should be noted that the platform of Christian Science is wholly spiritual, not material. The term Spirit as used in Christian Science is a synonym for God; therefore, if God is Spirit, man is spiritual, no matter how transcendental such a thought may appear to be.

A recent contributor in your columns seeks to claim God as the author of the material universe and material man. In this he is not alone, for many still believe in a unity of Spirit and matter. We have only to look at the condition of the world today to see the results of thinking that Spirit and matter go hand in hand.
