True Kindness

The revelation of Christian Science is bringing to the world the true meaning of kindness, and is teaching men how to "be kindly affectioned one to another." True kindness emanates from divine Love. It is manifested in living and expressing love. It is actuated by love for God and our fellow man. It finds expression in compassion, tenderness, gentleness, unselfishness, good will, forgiveness, consideration, graciousness, and other kindred qualities. It fulfills Jesus' command, "Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them."

Kindness, based on spiritual understanding of the true nature of God and man, is impartial, invariable, universal. It expresses the unvarying law of Love. Humanity yearns for a compassionate understanding of its hopes, its fears, its motives, its misfortunes. Today, more than ever before, this longing is being satisfied through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science.

Christian Science teaches that God is Love, the infinite Father-Mother, and that all, in their true being, are His children. It reveals the gentle healing presence of His loving-kindness. The real man, the image and likeness of God, expresses the tender loving-kindness of perfect, unchanging Love. He reflects uninterruptedly the compassionate, beneficent nature of the motherhood of God. He is always loving. As men acknowledge and realize these truths, their expression of true kindness will grow until it is spontaneously and continuously manifested in loving thoughts, words, and deeds.
