Sunday School Notes and Comments

A student of Christian Science who was asked to serve as a librarian in a branch church Sunday school found a few books in a small case in a dark corner of the Sunday school room. The new librarian realized that the importance of a lending library lies in its usefulness, and that the authorized Christian Science literature carries healings and blessings to all who read it. She knew that no apathy, ignorance, indifference, nor any other phase of aggressive mental suggestion, could annul or stop the reception and understanding of Truth's healing messages, for there is only one Mind governing all.

The lending library afforded a wonderful opportunity for the healing message of divine Love—of hope, encouragement, and enlightenment—to be made available to the pupils in whose homes there was a lack of Christian Science literature. Logical and scientific work was done, in order to prove that, as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494), "To all mankind and in every hour, divine Love supplies all good."

Copies of the Bible, and of Science and Health and all Mrs. Eddy's other writings, the biographies of her life, and the Concordances to the Bible and to our Leader's works were added to the library, which was moved to a bright, cheerful room. The superintendent placed in each class envelope an announcement of the new location of the lending library, where books could be borrowed by the pupils, and emphasized the importance of using the library. Loving helpfulness, unity of purpose, and co-operation came from all parts of the Sunday school.
