Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

No adverse comment or statement requiring correction regarding Christian Science or our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, appeared in the local press as far as we are aware.

The two English dailies have continued to give us considerable space in exchange for subscriptions to The Christian Science Monitor with which they are supplied. In addition to Lesson-Sermon excerpts from the Christian Science Quarterly, they have shown much courtesy in publishing items concerning our lectures, Thanksgiving services, church notices, et cetera, while the official report of the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church was printed in full in both papers.

The local press, including French and Greek papers, has frequently published telegrams giving the Monitor's news and views, while the English dailies have carried many reprints. Its appreciation is further emphasized by tributes to the Monitor's excellence and trustworthiness. Thus in an editorial in which one from our paper was reproduced in full, the Egyptian Gazette referred to it as "the influential Christian Science Monitor," while the Bourse Egyptienne headed a reprint with, "Un article significatif d'un grand journal américain" [A significant article in a great American newspaper].
