Mastering Decisions

OUT of her wide experience and long and careful study of the Bible, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has formulated statements and rules which are logical and provable. These statements of Truth are exact and admit of no exceptions. For this reason they must be followed and obeyed implicitly, if we would gain the promised benefits of a quick and permanent release from human ills.

On page 392 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says, "Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take." The word "decide" is defined, in part, as "to bring to a termination, as a question ... giving the victory to one side or party."

What is the main decision facing mankind today? It has been said that the standard of a nation can be found in its concept of God. This being true, the all-important question for any people must be how to know Him aright. This question as to the true character of God has occupied the thought of the human race throughout the ages, and in Christian Science we find an answer which is consistent and logical. Its basic teaching is the perfection of God as omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent Spirit, and the perfection of His spiritual creation, including man.
