In a recent issue of the Advocate reference was made to Christian Science in a way that was somewhat misleading, and this correction is respectfully submitted.

After mentioning the "amazing growth of Christian Science," and affirming this to be due to "personal recommendation," the critic states, "Strange that with a bigger gospel we are less eager to share it." Now, Christian Science teaches and demonstrates the complete gospel, namely, that God is Love. In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes (p. 6): "'God is Love.' More than this we cannot ask, higher we cannot look, farther we cannot go."

Besides reiterating the Bible teaching, "God is love," Christian Science emphasizes the Scriptural declaration, "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created be him." Finally, Christian Science teaches how to apply these wondrous truths in daily life so that, step by step, the glory of true manhood and womanhood, spiritual and perfect, may be demonstrated. Christ Jesus' advent, words, and works proclaim and confirm the scientific completeness of the teaching, God is Love. This, then, is the consummate gospel.
