I am humbly and inexpressibly grateful for Christian Science,...

I am humbly and inexpressibly grateful for Christian Science, and for all that it has done and is doing for mankind. For a period of almost two years my healings were all instantaneous, including those of uremic poisoning, headache, and broken pelvis bone and lacerations.

I also experienced harmonious childbirth after three doctors had advised a Caesarian operation. I wanted Christian Science treatment and not the operation, but there was much opposition from a member in the family who was not a Christian Scientist. I decided to start out on the day's journey to the city, where a room had been reserved for me in a hospital. I held in mind constantly the spiritual facts that God is my protector, and that the only operation there is, is the operation of Truth. Symptoms of the baby's arrival were apparent while we were yet miles from our destination. I again asked for a Christian Science practitioner, but a doctor was called first. The doctor insisted that I be taken to a hospital without delay. I told him that I was a Christian Scientist and wanted to speak to a Christian Science practitioner. He stated to a member of my family that there was no time to fool with Christian Science. I overheard this last statement and decided it was time to take my stand for my highest sense of right. I insisted on a practitioner being called. In an unbelievably short time a cottage was rented; light, gas, water were turned on; and I was surrounded by loving Christian Scientists. All through this experience I was absolutely without fear, thanks to the loving work of the practitioner.

For almost a year after this I did not attend Christian Science services, nor did I make any attend to learn more about this blessed truth.
