A Great Adventure

In a busy metropolitan Christian Science Reading Room, a young man paused in the salesroom and spoke to the librarian. His hand was on the door leading to the quiet room where many visitors were engrossed in reading and study. "Whenever I go in there," he remarked, "I feel as if I were starting on a great adventure; and I always find exactly what I need."

The Christian Science Reading Rooms are helping many to start, and encouraging many to continue, on the great adventure of proving God's allness and omnipresence. Established by the vision and wisdom of our inspired Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, they enable many a weary wanderer to find rest, refreshment, and healing in the Word of God. Here, secluded from noise and turmoil, the visitor may study the Bible, our Leader's writings, and the authorized publications of The Christian Science Publishing Society. Concordances and dictionaries may also be consulted. A loving invitation is extended to all to make free use of these facilities.

By helping to make available to all mankind the Word of God, as revealed in the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, our Reading Rooms are of vital importance in hastening the fulfillment of the petition in our "Daily Prayer" as given in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. VIII, Sect. 4), "May Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!"
