The Lectures

The first Christian Science lecture ever delivered in the Holy Land was given by Paul A. Harsch, C. S. B., of Toledo, Ohio, in the lecture hall of the Jerusalem Y. M. C. A., on the evening of March 3.

Mr. Harsch had been traveling through Egypt from Bombay on one of his lecture tours, and decided to pay a visit to Palestine. When he got off the train at the Jerusalem station he was met by members of the Christian Science group in Jerusalem, and that evening he delivered his lecture on "The Eternal, Ever-present Christ as Revealed by Christian Science." The lecture was sponsored by the Christian Science Society in Alexandria, Egypt, but it was, as Mr. Harsch himself put it, his contribution toward the establishment of a more permanent organization in Jerusalem.

The Y. M. C. A. lecture hall was lent for the occasion by General Secretary Miller, and the lecture was attended by about forty persons.
