THE SUNSET HOUR

The sky is flushing gold and rose,
And twilight shadows fall;
A tender peace that comes from God
Gently enfoldeth all.

And I look back through bygone years
To that blest sunset hour,
When Jesus healed the multitude
By Love's reflected power.

The same sun dropped its glory down
Upon the peaceful sea,
And cooling breezes stirred the trees
And flowers in Galilee.

And in that tender twilight peace,
The sunset's radiant glow,
They brought their troubled ones to him
That Love might heal their woe.

Though centuries have passed away,
In this fair sunset hour
Love's benediction falls on us
With tender healing power.
