Paul , who to human sense had had a cruel past, recommended "forgetting those things which are behind" and pressing toward "the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." In doing this he achieved his freedom, and he also attained to a remarkable degree of usefulness.

Christian Science gives the one correct and true concept of reality, which is utterly unlike the false concept of intelligence, substance, and being as existent in matter, and of man as material, subject to all the miseries and liabilities, the sin, sickness, and death, which attend a material sense of existence. To this erroneous material sense of existence all human suffering may be directly attributed.
