Christian Science came to me at a time of great physical need. In 1921 I was operated on for adhesions of the bowels and appendicitis, and when I left the hospital the doctors told me the adhesions would appear again. I was in agony until 1924, when I decided to try a change of climate. I started for California, but I could stand the trip only as far as the coast, and so decided to stay in Vancouver for the winter. There I found God and the Science that makes man free. I had only four treatments before the difficulty was overcome by Truth.

I have had other demonstrations of Truth both on water and on land, and I know that this Science never fails one who is relying on God. Mrs. Eddy says in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." I have had the great privilege of helping others to become interested in Science. It gives me great courage to work in God's vineyard. I have better health than I ever had before. I smoked and chewed tobacco for twenty-two years, but the habit was destroyed by the truth, never to return.

My wife, also, has had demonstrations in Science, and I thank God and Mrs. Eddy for this wonderful gift to mankind. I have the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church. We ought to be thankful that we are living in this age when we have Science to direct our ways; for in "No and Yes" (p. 33) Mrs. Eddy speaks of "divine Science, with fixed Principle, a given rule, and unmistakable proof." Having traveled quite a bit I have seen some wonderful proofs of God's law, and I feel very grateful for Christian Science.
