Prayer

Dear Father, when my footsteps stray
Thy Word points to the upward way;
Thou givest strength throughout the day
When I for courage pray.

Dear Father, in the darkest night
Thy understanding giveth light;
And error's claims are put to flight
When I behold Thy might.

Dear Father, when I ask for grace
I find within Thy secret place
That love which filleth every space
Whene'er I seek Thy face.

Dear God, when I the truth apply
Thou dost not any good deny,
And all my needs Thou dost supply
When I on Truth rely.

Dear Father-Mother, peace is still
The surcease to all strife and ill;
Thou dost rich promises fulfill
When I obey Thy will.

Dear Father-Mother God, in prayer
I ever seek and find Thee there;
Thy praise and glory I declare.
And Thy unfailing care.
