Beauty

My heart ascends in singing praise to Thee,
Oh, Mind divine, because that through the clash
Of warring wills, aims dwarfed to selfishness,
And pleasures vain as bubbles children blow,
The light of Thy great Science stands revealed.
With crystal clarity it has outshone
The mist of matter's falsities and fears,
And has unveiled the glorious majesty
Of Thy abiding presence, pure, serene.
Instead of loveless, unknown force, we see
The universe in rhythmic order held
By law of Love, which reigns in grace supreme,
And touches all to equal loveliness.
Thy truth, whose power is tempered tenderness,
Is proven now in peace of answered prayer.
And Life, unmarred by superstition's blight
Of birth or death, fadeless and fetterless,
With joy unfolding its eternal bloom,
Transforms each daily duty into song.

New heaven and new earth mine eyes behold—
The radiant beauty of Thy holiness.
