A telegraphic dispatch in your issue of December 16 included various statements and implications that give a misleading impression of Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science. Therefore, an opportunity is desired to present a few pertinent facts.

Those who are familiar with the life and works of Mrs. Eddy recognize that she was a gentlewoman of high character and of deeply religious nature. When nearly forty-five years of age, while suffering from physical injuries which friends feared might prove fatal, she turned to her Bible and received from it such spiritual inspiration that she was instantaneously healed of her injuries.
