Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

During the year there has been an increase in the number of small groups in distant towns meeting to hold Christian Science services, and experience has proved beyond question that "where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them," for healing has radiated from these services.

The year has proved a very busy one for your Committee, necessitating the writing of over five hundred letters, and the making of many calls.

During the year forty-four letters and articles misrepresenting Christian Science and its Leader have appeared in the South Island press, necessitating the writing of thirty-seven letters of correction and enlightenment by this Committee. All these letters were published with the exception of one. The attitude of the press is now very tolerant and friendly to our Cause, and a letter has just been received from the editor of one of the principal dailies saying that he will always be prepared to publish any news regarding the progress of our organization. Quite a large number of reprints of articles from the Monitor have appeared in the South Island press with due acknowledgment.
