In gratitude to God for the ways which He has used to...

In gratitude to God for the ways which He has used to bring humanity out of material mists into an understanding of Himself, and for the blessings which I have received from some understanding of Him, I wish to give this testimony.

I am grateful for the explanations which Christian Science gives of the lives of Old Testament characters; for the light of spiritual life revealed by Christ Jesus and those who proved the truth which he taught; and for those who lived that truth in any degree through the ages. I am grateful for class instruction, Association Meetings, lectures, and the periodicals; also for the privilege of serving as a Reader, teaching in Sunday school, serving on distribution committees, and in other activities of the church.

The healing of my father, after all other means had failed. convinced me of the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I took up the study of this Science myself, and it led me into an understanding of the "still small voice," which has been my guide through trials, leading me into strange places, among strange people, to do God's work without fear. As a Christian Science nurse I was led into every kind of home and all sorts of conditions. As one willing to "do all to the glory of God," I found Him in stores, shops, hotels, and factories. Visits to prisons and jails offered further proofs of His love. As a worker in the Government service during the World War I saw His love manifested in many ways among the soldiers. For many years not one hour's work was lost because of physical inability.
