I feel a deep sense of gratitude in having the opportunity of writing to our periodicals regarding a beautiful healing I had in Christian Science some ten years ago.

During the course of my employment with a large light and power company of this city I was severely burned on the face, neck, and arms by an explosion of powdered coal in one of the main boilers in the plant. Because of company rules and regulations I was taken to the hospital, where I remained for ten days. I was very nervous, could not sleep at night, and as the hospital atmosphere disturbed me, owing to my being in a ward with other patients, the doctor in charge said I might be taken home, as the burns could be taken care of there.

The morning I left the hospital the doctor called my wife aside and told her that I was extremely nervous, and that I would be subject to a series of boils all over my body as a result of the burns, for which I should return to him for serum treatment. His concluding words were that I would not be a well man for months. Whild driving home we decided to turn to Christian Science for help and to rely on it absolutely. My wife was a student and a member of The Mother Church, also of a branch church, and I too had attended services for several years.
