In an article published in the Gleaner, a writer makes several statements with regard to Christian Science which are not in accord with its teachings.

Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Then the logical inference follows that if we are not free, we must be entertaining a belief in something which is not true.

Christian Science "denies the reality" of disease on the same grounds that Jesus denied the reality of death in the raising of the daughter of Jairus. That the Master understood a spiritual truth which was beyond the comprehension of the physical senses is evidenced in the Biblical account of this healing. It will be recalled that when he, with three of his disciples and the parents of the child, entered the room where the child lay, he said, "She is not dead, but sleepeth." The narrative goes on to state that the mourners "laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead." Whereupon he put them all out of the room and restored the child to life.
