Words alone cannot express my sincere gratitude for God's goodness to me, and for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. I have been a student of this Science for over sixteen years, and have experienced many beautiful healings. The ever-presence of God was proved to me when I was healed of a very bad abscess that had formed in my intestines. They had ceased functioning and I was in a very serious condition, suffering great pain. I turned to Christian Science for help and began to receive treatment from a practitioner. Although I know that all treatments are powerful, I shall never forget that first one, for it proved to me that "the word of God is quick, and powerful." During the treatment the pain left me and I was free for about four hours. There was a further attack of severe pain, and my husband telephoned for another treatment, which was the means of bringing the abscess to the surface. The next morning after a present treatment the abscess broke, and in a week I was completely healed.

Another proof of the power of God to heal came when a large growth manifested itself on the top of my head, causing me great pain. A doctor diagnosed the condition as a tumor pressing near the brain, and told me that he could do nothing for me unless I had a serious operation; and even then it would be only a chance if the operation were successful. I did not submit to the operation, but instead had help in Christian Science. After several treatments the growth disappeared. I have also been healed of chronic stomach trouble, influenza, neuritis, muscular rheumatism, pneumonia, heart trouble, and severe headaches—adequate proof of the power of divine Mind.

The following verse from the fifth chapter of the epistle of James illustrates my experience: "And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him." I can never say how grateful I am to God that this glorious light has come to me. While I am indeed grateful for the physical healings received, I am more grateful for the spiritual understanding of God and man's relation to Him. When one is tempted to accept evil suggestions, it is a joy to have the inward assurance that God is Love, and to know that, as Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 567 of the Christian Science textbook, "To infinite, ever-present Love, all is Love, and there is no error, no sin, sickness, nor death." I am grateful to our Leader for the wonderful truth she has imparted to the world; also to the practitioner for the love and patience she has shown to me while helping me to overcome the many false beliefs of the carnal mind and to gain a deeper spiritual understanding of God and man.
