Your correspondent in a recent issue again expresses his views upon spiritual man and says, "If spiritual man, misusing his God-given right, should seek to unfold divine Mind to himself faster than God unfolds Himself to him, then all such supposed knowledge would be erroneous and would tend to obscure the knowledge of true being that he already possessed."

This is not in accordance with the teachings of Christian Science, as will be seen from the following statement regarding spiritual man by Mrs. Eddy in the textbook, "Science and Health with key to the Scriptures" (p. 258): "Never born and never dying, it were impossible for man, under the government of God in eternal Science, to fall from his high estate."

When a student of mathematics finds he does not solve his problems on the basis of two and two makes five, he corrects his mistake and proceeds to work on the basis of two and two makes four. In like manner a Christian Scientist does not waste his opportunities by striving to find a cause for that which has no origin, but he finds that it is essential to "hold thoughts steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true" (Science and Health, p. 261), in order to demonstrate the truth of being.
