Some years ago, when Christian Science was brought to...

Some years ago, when Christian Science was brought to me, I seemed almost beyond help. I accepted it at once, discarded all material remedies, and relied wholly on the truth, believing that nothing is impossible to God. I commenced to read the textbook and my ills began to fade away at once. I read day and night; then I asked a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given, and I was beautifully healed. My ailments included rheumatism, pyorrhea, blood poisoning, stomach trouble of long standing, weak heart, constipation, and rupture. Accidental poisoning was healed in one treatment, and a sudden attack of pneumonia was healed as I listened to a Sunday church service over the radio.

When my mother passed on, I was healed of grief. I also was healed by reading Science and Health when I had an accident which disabled my whole left side. An ankle was thrown out of joint, a hip, knee, and shoulder were injured, and an arm broken above the elbow. I was alone at the time, with no near neighbors and no telephone, so I was forced to do my own work by declaring the truth all the time and by constant reading. I did not look at the physical condition. I never had a bandage, nor did I tell anyone until a week later, when I was able to go to a practitioner for help for the knee. I did whatever was necessary about the house, and was almost entirely healed in ten days. I was young in Science when this took place. In order to verify this healing before sending this testimony I had my arm X-rayed, which showed that the arm had been broken one inch above the elbow, but was perfectly set. I also showed it to a friend who is a doctor, and he, too, said that it was set perfectly.

I thank God for this beautiful, healing truth, and am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for making it understandable. I am grateful also for the spiritual uplifting and the happiness it brings; for the literature, the church services, the lectures, the practitioners, whose help is always available; for membership in a branch church; and for the writings of our Leader.—(Mrs.) Margaret Ellerman, Morris, Illinois.
