"A little coat"

O tender mother-love! We like to mark
How the child Samuel served in deed and thought,
Tending the glowing flame before the ark,
Wearing the coat his mother's hands had wrought.

O Father-Mother Love, who, day by day,
Weaves round about us thoughts that heal and bless!
May we grow worthier as we serve and pray
To wear the garment of Thy righteousness.
