Notice

The historical statements now being sent to The Christian Science Board of Directors by churches, societies, and individuals in response to the invitation which appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of June 4, are helpful and will be an addition to the historical data now being accumulated by The Mother Church. Some can be made more helpful by being less general in statement. Specific statements, giving dates, places, details concerning early workers (with their names in full, if possible), and something of the inception of interest in Christian Science which led up to the formation of the church or society, are desirable. Societies or churches which have not yet accomplished the building of an edifice may send in statements of their history. In cities where there are a number of churches, those first organized will naturally be in a position to include in their statements the early history of Christian Science in the locality, while the other churches may furnish accounts of the developments which brought about the formation of their respective organizations.

Many branch churches have had occasion to send pictures of their edifices to The Christian Science Publishing Society or to the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, but since their files are entirely separate from those of The Mother Church, it will be helpful if such organizations will also send pictures and historical statements to The Christian Science Board of Directors in response to the invitation referred to. All statements should be signed and dated.
