A small copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was presented to me by a Christian Science War Relief worker during the height of the so-called influenza epidemic in 1918. I knew nothing about Christian Science at the time, but started to read the book with an open mind, and found it absorbed my attention from the start. I could not seem to read enough, nor could I acquire the other writings of Mrs. Eddy fast enough to satisfy my earnest longings to know more of the truth as unfolded by this beloved woman. One after another my physical complaints dropped away. I was healed of heart trouble, indigestion, and many other diseases simply by studying the textbook. I was healed of the smoking habit of many years' standing and of the desire for intoxicating liquors, and was raised from a sphere of impoverished existence to a life of constructive activity.

My heart overflows with gratitude when I think of the tremendous amount of good that has been brought into my life through the study and application of the truths of Christian Science as given us by Mrs. Eddy. Without this blessed truth I know my experiences would be void of the wonderful joy which so freely is constantly flowing into my consciousness.—Burton Wray Elgin, North Tarrytown, New York.
