In the Star of March 25 is a report of a sermon by a clergyman. He is quoted as saying that "Christian Science, Unity, and Theosophy are false healing cults." Please permit me to state that Christian Science is true, not false.

Christian Science is the religion of Christ Jesus. It includes the fulfillment of his command to preach the gospel and to heal the sick. The healing element of Christ's Christianity was an integral part of the work of Christ Jesus and of his disciples and of the early Christians.

The critics of Christian Science would do well to gain an understanding of this teaching before seeking to condemn it. The great Master has stated in unmistakable language, "Judge not, that ye be not judged." A learned man once defended the followers of Jesus at a time when those in authority were condemning and persecuting them. This man, Gamaliel, said: "If this ... work be of men, it will come to nought: but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God." On this basis alone can Christian Science be adjudged. This religion, which has healed great numbers of people and which has many hundreds of churches throughout the world, will endure in spite of the maledictions of those critics who speak of it as a false healing cult. Kindly let me say further, that Christian Science is not related to Theosophy and Unity.
