Thirteen years ago I heard of Christian Science for the first time through the healing of a friend. For many years previous to this experience I had been hungering for that which I have since learned to be the truth; the truth about God, about man—indeed, about all things. When Christian Science was presented to me through the demonstration of its healing efficacy, I lost no time in procuring a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Through the study and application of Christian Science as taught therein, I have been healed of many diseases, including chronic stomach and bowel trouble, influenza, ptomaine poisoning, abscessed ears, and the desire for smoking and drinking. Glasses that I had worn for eight years have been laid aside. Upon seeking divine guidance in times of trouble I have been given unmistakable signs of paths leading me into righteousness, peace, and harmony.

On page 16 of her Message to The Mother Church for 1902, our beloved Leader writes, "The meek might, sublime patience, wonderful works, and opening not his mouth in self-defense against false witnesses, express the life of God-likeness." When I first read this statement I was deeply impressed by it. My sincere desire is to express my gratitude for Christian Science by bringing my daily deeds into closer harmony with its teachings.
