It is with great joy and gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Truth and Love, as taught and practiced in Christian Science. The application of our understanding of Christian Science, even in small degree, is a preventive as well as a curative of all manner of sickness and sin. In the upbringing of four small children in our family, Christian Science proves daily an efficient and reliable guide and protection. So-called children's diseases have appeared, to be healed in some instances instantaneously. A few years ago all four of our little ones had measles at the same time. With only one absent treatment and by my holding steadfastly to the truth, within three days all signs of the disease had vanished. At no time was discomfort felt or complaint voiced. The children played happily together throughout the experience, and there were no bad after effects. I am especially grateful for freedom from fear and anxiety during this trial. Here let me say, for the benefit of mothers to be, that Christian Science removes the curse (so called) on women, and instead brings joy, peace, and harmony. Throughout the births of our four children I had no other support but dependence on God, as taught in Christian Science. In place of fear, gratitude filled my consciousness; and the births were safe and harmonious.

Christian Science is everything to me: the world would now seem empty and cold without this religion of love. All praise and glory belong to God, the Giver of all perfect gifts. I thank God for giving us Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who through her purity and obedience to the "still small voice" was enabled to discern anew the light, and through her great love for mankind present her revelation to a weary and waiting world. I am grateful to the Board of Directors of The Mother Church, whose obedience and steadfastness to the Church Manual are reflected in the steady growth and prosperity of our Cause. I am also very grateful to our Bible Lesson committee, who so wisely provide our daily manna in the Christian Science Quarterly. In short, I am grateful for every loyal Christian Scientist; for, as our Leader tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 450), "The Christian Scientist has enlisted to lessen evil, disease, and death." To the dear practitioner who so lovingly directed my first feeble steps into "the land of Christian Science" (ibid., pp. 226, 227), I can never cease to be grateful.

In closing, I should like to mention our incomparable newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, which is, through its clean and pure journalism, lifting the newspaper world to a higher standard. Words fail to express my gratitude for the opportunity and privilege of serving in our beloved Cause. My prayerful desire is for a fuller realization of the allness and completeness of God, and of man as His image and likeness; for a more resolute and unswerving turning to God at all times and under whatever condition. In proportion to my obedience to God, to our Leader, and to the Church Manual shall I bring these blessings into my experience.—(Mrs.) Anna Marie Gast, Newberg, Oregon.
