In loving gratitude to God and my fellow-men, I wish to give my testimony. I returned from the war sick and broken; for, owing to weak heart muscles and a double inguinal rupture, I was very much inconvenienced in my work as a furniture packer. Six months later I became extremely nervous and was obliged to seek medical treatment. The doctor did not hold out much hope unless I gave up my work and went to a sanitarium, where I might get better quietly. I told him I could not give up my work on account of my family, whereupon he declared he could do nothing for me.

Some time later I heard of Christian Science through relatives. I attended the Wednesday evening testimony meetings and read some of the Herolds; but my interest was not aroused until one Sunday I became acquainted with a practitioner who lovingly drew me into conversation, telling me that God is Love, and that the divine presence brings us comfort and peace. I asked for Christian Science treatment, and in a few weeks I had made such progress that I could do my work easily and without inconvenience. I also discarded the truss which I had worn for almost two years. In a few more weeks, through God's omnipotent love and the loving help of a practitioner, I was free from all my complaints. My complete healing had taken six months.

I thank God and Christian Science for all the blessings I have received, and our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which she so lovingly gave us. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude; and I am especially grateful for membership in a branch church.—Paul Widerra, Berlin, Germany.
