[Written for the Sentinel]

Autumn Foliage

Tints that no human brush can emulate,
Shades that are blended by the miracle
Of nature's artistry!
The autumn beauties of emblazoned trees
Are grand and noble evidence to all
Of Mind's supreme control.

Who can behold the wonder of the sun,
Rejoicing as with smiles it glorifies
The autumn foliage,
Without a prayer to see and better know
The Life that shines resplendent everywhere
Untrammeled by the world?

A prayer to love our Father more and more,
Acknowledge His reflection in all good,
And thus His image see;
A prayer more truly to reflect in life
Something of those divine beatitudes
The trees sing silently!
