[Written for the Sentinel]

O Love Divine!

O Love divine that meets all need,
Thou 'rt with us all the way,
A never failing guard by night,
A guiding hand by day;

O Love that soothes the broken heart,
Unseen by mortal sight,
That lifts our thought from men to God,
And gives the humble might;

Help us to-day to do Thy will,
O Love, as Jesus did.
To raise the fallen, heal the sick,
As God's commandments bid.

One God, one Life, one Truth, one Love,
Oh, sweet and glorious thought,
The brotherhood of man, complete,
As our great Master taught!

'T is Love that dries the scalding tears,
That notes the sparrow's fall,
That gives us grace, affection feeds,
'T is God—Love—King of all.
