Annual Meeting of The Mother Church

On June 6 in the church edifice was held the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church. Again a great company assembled from widely distant parts of the earth, representing the world-wide extent of the Christian Science movement. The keynotes of the meeting were the expressions of profound loyalty to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, the manifest unity prevalent among the members of The Mother Church, and the reports of unprecedented progress in the great work for which the Christian Science church was founded—the bringing of the kingdom of heaven into the affairs of men.

From the vast audience were heard many and profound individual expressions of gratitude for the innumerable blessings which have come through God's ministering love, and of keen desire for more sanctified and consecrated living, in order that the healing truth may be taken to an ever increasing number of the "millions of unprejudiced minds" (Science and Health, p. 570) hungering and thirsting after righteousness. At no Annual Meeting ever held have there been evidenced more definite signs of the high purpose, the solidarity and unity of the Christian Science movement.

Again the Clerk reported a larger increase than ever before in the membership of The Mother Church, and the number of authorized practitioners has reached a new level, sure indexes of the growth of the field of Christian Science. The spirit of progress in all the channels provided by Mrs. Eddy for the dissemination of the healing truth, as well as of increased material prosperity, characterized the meeting.
