Many years ago I was enabled to discard the use of glasses through the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. With this gleam of Truth many healings have taken place, including a form of rheumatism pronounced chronic, severe headaches, and intermittent deafness. My heart is filled with gratitude for the last healing, for the difficulty had been accompanied sometimes with sharp pain. I asked help of two practitioners, but obtained only temporary relief: I could hear distinctly for a short time only. The difficulties were augmented by living in a foreign land and being fearful of not understanding all that was said, because of the different intonation. Discouragement tried many times to tell me that I must go to a specialist; but each time the argument was refuted by the knowledge that I was always in the presence of God and could only hear His voice, and that whatever mortal mind said was a lie. The tenth chapter of John's Gospel was continually in my thought; for many years ago I had memorized it. The eighth verse was especially helpful when the pain was at its worst. By clinging closely to this for many days, I noticed that I could hear my watch ticking at a distance. This occurred nearly three years ago, and the ear has remained normal.

While I am truly grateful for the physical healings, I can never cease to express gratitude for the clear interpretation of the Bible given by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, whose great love for humanity is enabling us to follow in the footsteps of the Way-shower, Christ Jesus.
