With profound gratitude I wish to relate some of the blessings and benefits which have come to me through Christian Science. It was my privilege to experience the healing power of God; and I want to tell all mankind what great things God has done for me—how I was restored through the understanding that God is good and Love, and am now privileged to recognize that "now are we the sons of God." When my daughter was seeking healing in vain in a sanatorium, a nurse called her attention to this teaching. Since that time we all have earnestly sought for a right trust in God and a right understanding of Him.

At the beginning of March, 1925, I was suddenly taken very ill with an acute attack of stomach trouble, which also very seriously affected other organs of the abdomen. I was not able to eat anything. The extremity seemed to be very great; but the time had arrived when we had to prove what we had learned in Christian Science, which my family and I had then been studying for several years. I clung to the thoughts that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and that God's blessing is of the utmost importance. I read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Christian Science Herolds daily, but I did not seem to improve; on the contrary, I grew worse. However, I did not lose courage, but prayed to God and worked unceasingly, and my demonstration reached the point where I did not want to do anything of myself, but wanted only what God wants.

In this state of consciousness of at-one-ment with God's ever present love, in which my dear daughter constantly supported me, we found the name and address again of the Christian Scientist who first brought the truth to us. Without delay we asked for absent treatment. After the first treatment a change for the better took place, and through the good and clear thoughts of Truth and the written explanations I began to feel better and stronger. One complaint after another was forced to yield to the bright light of Truth. My appetite continued to improve, and at the end of July 1 could take up my work again, a new person, healthy, joyous, and full of courage to face life.
