The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Christchurch, New Zealand (Second Church).

Lecturer: Dr. John M. Tutt; introduced by Miss Eleonore Blumhardt, who said:—

In his Sermon on the Mount Christ Jesus said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Through Christian Science I have learned that this statement is an absolute law, the promise of which is always fulfilled when we obey its condition and seek first and above all else the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Through seeking such understanding I was led to the study of Christian Science, and, truly, all these things have been added unto me. Christian Science has added unto me health, strength, energy, courage, joy, peace, happiness, harmony, true friends, a greater sense of freedom, and a greater understanding and appreciation of all the good in the universe. It has saved me from an operation which a doctor had advised me to undergo for a trouble of many years' standing. That trouble was healed without an operation and without any medicine, through my study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. During my first reading of this book I was healed of many ailments, both physical and mental. What Christian Science has done for me it is doing in a similar way for all who turn to it whole-heartedly. Is it, then, any wonder that we should be eager to share our happiness with all of you?
