It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I testify to the many blessings received through Christian Science. Ten years ago I became acquainted with its teachings, and was soon convinced that I had found the one thing needful. Until then I had lacked the proper concept of God, and of man as created in His image and likeness. The chapter on Prayer in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is a great joy to me; it certainly has taught me how to pray aright, and has brought instantaneous healing from nervous debility.

About eight years ago I slipped on a polished floor, and in trying to save a valuable vase which I had in my hand I fell with great force on my back. I did not experience any immediate ill effects, but on retiring for the night I was taken with a most acute sense of suffering. I tried to realize God's law as the only law, and that "under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection," as Mrs. Eddy tells us (Science and Health, p. 424), with the result that I was able to attend to my duties the next day; but the following night the pain again manifested itself. As I was unable to rise above the sense of pain I asked help of a practitioner, which was lovingly given; and words can never describe the spiritual uplift received. I walked home, a distance of two miles, and seemed to be walking on air all the way. Needless to say, I enjoyed a good night's rest, and after my second treatment I was perfectly healed. For this healing I am very grateful; also for the healing of quinsy while attending our little service here, and of rheumatism, which disappeared in the same manner. I have been practically freed from headaches and depression, and have also discarded glasses, which I had worn for six years; but the greatest blessing of all has been the spiritual uplift. Words can never express my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave to this age the true religion as taught by Christ Jesus over nineteen centuries ago.—(Miss) E. Edith Carter, Colchester, Essex, England.
