In 1916, I commenced to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. When about half through the book, the truth dawned upon me, and I was healed of heart trouble. I went to bed and slept for the first time in years without the fear of suffering with my heart, or without having to take medicine to cause me to sleep. I slept soundly all night, awaking the next morning with a sweet sense of peace and happiness, such as I have many times since experienced.

For ten years previous to this I had been a great sufferer from granulated eyelids. I had never, up to that time, consulted a Christian Science practitioner. I had experienced many healings, but the healing of my eyes was slow. In 1919 my eyesight began to fail so fast that I thought a change of glasses would be of help to me. I went to one of our leading oculists, who, after closely examining my eyes, hesitatingly told me that the sight was nearly gone, and that it would be impossible to help it. He refused to fit me with glasses. He said an operation might help me, but he could not perform the operation. At first this gave me a sense of great fear; and I awoke one morning to find I could scarcely distinguish the light from the darkness. Later on, one night in my room, I began my mental work by counting the blessings I had received through Christian Science. I found there were many. I then realized that my fear of blindness was growing less, and I also felt a calm sense of peace and love come over me. The spiritual thought came to me that the Bible says, "The Spirit of God dwelleth in you." I realized my fear was gone, and that God's law was in operation. There were a few hours left before daylight, in which I slept soundly; and I awoke to find my healing complete. I could see better than I had for years, and the almost continuous pain in my eyes had disappeared. When my daughter came to the room, to her surprise she found me happily preparing myself for breakfast, and able to see as well as any one. This gave me great joy. To use Mrs. Eddy's words on page 442 of Science and Health, "the prisoner rose up regenerated, strong, free." I can read and write all day with no fear of hurting my eyes.

For the past two years I have been helping others to know that "now is the accepted time," and that divine Love is leading and illuming the way. We read in I Peter, "Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light." I am profoundly grateful for Mrs. Eddy, who has revealed to us through Science and Health the spiritual interpretation of the Bible; also for the practitioners who so lovingly guided me out of darkness into light; and for "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding," that came to me through class instruction.—(Mrs.) Anna Stone, Seattle, Washington.
