[Written for the Sentinel]

"Now is the day of salvation"

Now is the day of our salvation — now!
No more in hopeless bondage need we bow
Beneath the yoke of pain, the curse of fear;
The truth that makes men free, — lo, it is here!

Stretch forth thine hand, O stricken brother-man;
Clasp close "the little book," its message scan;
There learn and prove the healing from above,
Through Him who is the Life, the Truth, the Love.

See man God's image, who with Him is one,
As when a golden ray from out the sun
Shines forth; so man no quality can show,
Apart from God, no consciousness can know.

This is the eternal truth that makes men free,
That lifts them out of sin and misery.
Man has no heritage from out the sod;
He is the immortal, perfect child of God.
