How can I express in a short testimony the joy and...

How can I express in a short testimony the joy and peace which I have experienced since coming into an understanding of Christian Science? I was healed of sickness and error which had held me in bondage for fifteen years. After reading in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy only a few days, I saw that all our troubles are caused by believing in another power besides God; and as soon as I decided to take the side of God and deny all error, I found myself suddenly well. No words can express the sense of freedom and happiness which were mine for nearly two years. Not even a sense of wearines came to me in that time. All the family of five were healed of various discords; but when I commenced to help others outside my home, I had to go down into the valley and prove my statements. The battle with sense and false self has been long and sometimes weary, but "underneath are the everlasting arms," and "in him we live, and move, and have our being."

Christian Science is priceless in the rearing of children, and I would urge all parents to investigate its pure methods. When my daughter was about thirteen years old, she became ill with what doctors would call appendicitis. I did not know what the trouble was, and my fear seemed to hinder the healing. The pain had been partly overcome, and when morning came I took her to one of Mrs. Eddy's faithful students. After the first treatment, the pain was gone, and we walked wherever we wished. Though she limped somewhat, my courage was sustained by the thought that "with God nothing shall be impossible."

I am grateful for all the good that God is giving us through the Christian Science literature, the lectures, and all the activities of The Mother Church, including the Church Manual. God is blessing all those that call upon Him "in spirit and in truth."—(Mrs.) Ida Ellen Nixon, Webb City, Missouri.
