[Written for the Sentinel]

Safe

Sheltered by Love divine,
Strongest protection mine
Under His shade.
Nothing to frighten here;
Only Love's presence near;
Whate'er would talk of fear,
Love never made.

Upheld by Love divine,
Strength for the day is mine,
Whate'er befall.
Courage, when sore oppressed,
Finds in my labor rest,
No more by doubt distressed:
Love is my all!

Guided by Love divine,
Light on my way doth shine;
I cannot stray.
One step alone I see,
Yet I walk glad and free,
Knowing I safe shall be:
Love leads the way!
