A willingness to give of one's ability or substance or time to aid another or the world as represented by one's circle of influence, is a most worthy trait of character. It is balanced properly when one is able to insist upon a just distribution of the product of his giving. The heights of service are reached when one realizes his obligation to mankind, when he is ready to admit that, offsetting the debt which the world owes him, there is a debt not less binding which he owes the world. . . . Only as men serve others, only as they bring all the tithes into the storehouse of good, can they know their own powers. Listless refusal to even try to promote the earth's redemption is not less wicked than open rebellion against God. "Ye shall know them by their fruits."
