Till I began the study of Christian Science about fifteen...

Till I began the study of Christian Science about fifteen years ago, I had always been of a despondent and dissatisfied disposition, not understanding of what use life was or how to make it useful; always expecting evil, and in consequence meeting good very seldom. It was a blessed revelation to learn from the study of Christian Science that nothing is too good to be true, that we are always met and surrounded by God's love, that God is the only cause, there being no effect from any others cause, and that it depends on ourselves to make good use of every minute of our lives by putting into practice what Christian Science teaches us.

My health was considered to be delicate. I was very susceptible to any change of temperature, subject to frequent attacks of bronchitis, chronic headaches, which increased to insufferable pain through the least exertion, and bad digestion, which necessitated constant drugging and dieting. All these difficulties, which made life very unpleasant, were entirely overcome by studying Mrs. Eddy's works and our Lesson-Sermons. I also received much help from loving practitioners, and in this way was healed, among other things, of serious nose bleedings. Class instruction, to which I had looked forward for many years, proved a still greater blessing than I expected it to be.

It is impossible to relate all that Christian Science has done for me. It has wrought in my life a change as great as the difference between night and day; therefore it seems needless to say that my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy is boundless, not only for having revealed to this age the truth about God and man, but also for the wise provisions she made for the maintenance of the Cause of Christian Science.—(Miss) Henriette W. von Stürler, The Hague, Holland.
